I don’t know about you, but this Shadow Government thing perplexes me a lot. I do not know why but every time I think about it, it reminds me of Star Wars, yes the movie!
You know that music that comes out every time there is Dart Vader on the scene? Well it is the same that comes out every time I think about the Italian Shadow Government. Maybe the “Governo Ombra” should have a warning subtitle: “PD electors, may the Force be with you”.
Because if things go on as they have started for the centre-left coalition it will result very difficult to win a future election, and not because of Berlusconi but because of the political ineptitude of all the leaders of PD. What a sad future for the centre-left electors.
First move of the Shadow Government? Tough opposition against the new born PDL Government (since there is no lack of right presuppositions for it)? Are you in a joking mood? No, their first move has been quarrelling about who should have got that Minister and who should have got that office.
Now, I would not want to say something obvious but a Shadow Government is not a real Government, you are not going to run a Country for real, so why quarrelling about who should have that office, if that office does not exist? Maybe someone should make the gentlemen notice it. Second, it is not a great show to see from the electors’ point of view. Gentlemen, if they see you quarrelling for an office that does not exist they may wonder what you may be able to do for a real office if you win the elections, and maybe they could doubt you are really qualified for running a Country.
Plus Dart Vader’s army (maybe better known as “The Shadows, of themselves”) should understand that when a journalist says true and documented things about disreputable relationships of a member of the majority of the Government, who happens to be the President of the Senate, you should not act like a pack of cowards that, indignant, runs away from freedom of press, making an outcry.
The sad reality is that “The Shadows” should have said those things a long time ago. But they never did. Why? Incompetence or usefulness?
Centre-left electors, wait for The Shadows’ next move.
And “may the force be with you”. You will need it.

I just read about the shadow government P2 scandal and the murder of Pope John Paul I. The World is a crazy place. Ignorance is bliss, until reality comes crashing down the a ton of bowling balls on your head.
